Zones

Overview

The benefit of organizing Infrastructure into zones is to provide physical isolation and redundancy. An OpenCloud datacenter can have multiple zones, but currently these exists only one zone per datacenter.

Viewing Zones

  1. On the main OpenCloud screen, click on Zones.
  2. A list of zones that resources can be deployed in will be shown.

Available Zones

The following zones are available for provisioning resources:

Zone Description
us-mi-abh-01 MI05 - Detroit, Michigan
us-co-eng-01 CO01 - Denver, Colorado

Deploying in Zones

Instances can be deployed in any zone, however, there are some exceptions connectivity in additional zones is required. If connectivity between zones is required, please contact the US Signal Technical Operations Center.

  • CBAS Customers: An additional CBAS (Cloud-based Advanced Security) is required for cross-zone connectivity.
  • Internet Access:: Internet traffic across zones is not permitted. Each zone where internet access is desired, it must be ordered separately.
  • Snapshot/Volume Copy: Connectivity across zones is provided for this feature.
  • Self Provisioned Networks: Cannot be used to egress outside of a zone its created in.
